Fix it Mommy

Hi my name is Stacie Kirkland and I am a stay at home mom of three year old Jasmine. The love of my life. You know, I thought that I honestly knew what true love was until the Doctor layed that beautiful baby girl in my arms and I gazed into her eyes for the first time. It was a feeling that could never be described with words or pictures.

Jasmine's daddy, my husband, is an over the road truck driver. (OTR) This means that he is sometimes gone for weeks on end. Jasmine and I manage very well with it being just the two of us. But we miss him deeply whenever he's gone. Any way, I have to fix everything whenever he's gone. She found a dead lizard when she was 2 and brought it to me and asked me what was wrong with the lizard. Needless to say I then had to explain to her that he was dead. With eyes wide and a glimmer of hope in her big blue eyes she told me to fix the lizard. "I can't baby", I told her. She then poked out her lips and said, "Daddy will fix the izard when he gets home." I still tear up thinking of that moment, because after all, I'm only Mommy.
